This guide describes how to upgrade from one version of EJBCA to another instance with a newer version. The same instructions apply to restore the backup of an instance to another for disaster recovery purposes.
The EJBCA Cloud instances that are purchased on an hourly basis, are designed to be terminated after an upgrade to a new instance is made. Instance termination avoids a detailed upgrade process in place of running a backup and restore script. If you have migrated your cloud nodes to an external database, please contact PrimeKey support for guidance in upgrading nodes.
In the example used in this guide, the source host is running EJBCA 7.0.1.2 and the destination host is running EJBCA 7.1.0:
- The source host running EJBCA 7.0.1.2 has an elastic (public) IP of:
40.78.9.87.
- The destination host running EJBCA 7.1.0 has an elastic (public) IP of:
52.246.249.239.
When the upgrade is complete all of the CAs and data on the source node running 7.0.1.2 are migrated over to the new 7.1.0 version.
