Power On the SEE

The following describes how to power on the SEE and access PrimeKey’s integrated Lights On (PiLO).

When you provide power to the SEE, it powers on the PiLO and the Trust Anchor (TA). The ecure Foundation Platform (SFP) remains powered off until all FIPS 140-2 initialization tests (self-tests) have passed and the user has requested that the SFP should be powered on.

By design, the SFP is not automatically started when the FIPS 140-2 self-tests are completed and you must specifically start the SFP using the PiLO (or a Web client connected to the PiLO).

It is possible to automate the SFP power-on cycle when then FIPS 140-2 tests have ended, for more details contact the PrimeKey SEE team.

Initialization Tests

The PiLO displays the progress and result of the FIPS power-on tests. Note that the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 mode cannot be disabled

When you first power up the SEE, the PiLO front panel touchscreen displays the message “Waiting for a response from the CORE TRUST”. Then, the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 power-on tests are run and it may take up to 5 minutes for the integrity checks to be performed. The following displays an example test output.

Once the TA integrity tests are successfully completed, the PiLO displays the main management page, see PiLO Management.
